I just got my Cartech back in and finally not leaking. I ended up using the old gaskets and new shimstock to finally get it to seal after "rebuilding" it three times.

Anyway, I am running 35,42,70 fuel pressures. Why I only get 7 PSI rise in pressure from taking off the vac. line from the Vortech FPR I don't know. Those may seem high for 310's but I get real bad lean bogging in off boost driving when I go lower. We've discussed the "rush of power" some of us experience at 5500 for some reason. Well I can't get the car to hook up in first. I slip the clutch enough to get traction off the line but when 5500 comes around they just break loose. I guess that's good but I always have to short shift 1st and end up starting 2nd at too low an RPM!

I don't remember having this problem before (my Cartech has been out for a while). I can't decide if my fuel curve is just so bad before 5500 that when everything comes into alignment, the sudden increas in power is too much. Maybe if it was smoother throughout the powerband it could handle it.

I wasn't trying to say the LSD would solve all problems, but for those of us who don't have it know what it's like to really loose traction. Not that you LSD users don't. I'm in the process of getting mine.

LSD? Yeah doesn't help that much. If I'm just rolling in first, or I launch in first, or I just do anything over 50% throttle I just sping the tires like mad in both 1st and 2nd gear and sometimes in 3rd!!!! The R comes with LSD, however with lots of trq and power, it just kinda overtakes the LSD and goes crazy. I will be trying the Z10 bar once I can find some cash to spare for it to see if that will help some. And oh yeah, I have A032R's on the car (205x50x15) and they still spin!

Yeah. I have a quaiffe LSD and it's not a cure-all. If the temperature is below 60 degrees, 1st gear on a typical street just won't hold.

When it's warm though, 2nd gear has no problems (unless I shift too hard) and 1st gear only breaks loose if I hit a bump or launch too hard in the first place.

This is why I love Yoko AVSi tires. **** them for discontinuing them!

I hate to say it, but there it a reason why we get larger wheels/tires. If you tossed those 15x6 in favor of some 17x7.5 or 17x8, you would loose a lot of that wheelspin. I had my stock 15's with michelins(also stock) with 95% tread, and with NO mods I couldn't stop first from spinning under full throttle. You will also need a good tire with a treadwear rating of 150 or less(the smaller rating the better). I have Yoko a520(180 treadwear) with no lsd and about 230 wheelhorse and I only get wheelspin under really hard clutchdrops and heavy launches(above 4K) and they ocassionaly break free during a very hard first gear or heavy acceleration in corners. You have a small tire, and too much power. A stock car with your horsepower comes from the factory with 17 or 18 inch wheels. There is a reason for this. Good luck, Jim

The better tires are 98% of the equation. Bigger wheels only reduce wheelspin because they weigh more and take longer to get spinning - slower acceleration = less wheelspin. 17s and 18s look pretty. Rolling diameter and contact patch is identical to your 15s. Notice that drag racers run 13s and 14s with their slicks.
